No roof above the stars

Four walled wonder
Wondering wildly.
How can the walls come down when they hold everything up
Shelter is all around, and not over us yet
Box life up, down: shut the lid
Let the rain crumble concrete, mortar, mud and cardboard
Bring it down, it holds nothing up
No roof above the stars
Our heads looking up.
Tear at the plaster
Scream as the doors are locked up.
Below us a door mat saying welcome
Steps leading up, stairs going nowhere
Where did life go when the four walls walked out
Standing up the wreaking ball that never came.
And only waited for the roof to throw it self against time.
